Tooth Extractions
At Deall Dental we try to avoid tooth extractions wherever possible to give you the greatest longevity from your teeth.
Sometimes an extraction must be performed due to irreparable damage to a tooth, bone loss around a tooth, infection, impaction or for orthodontic reasons.
Our dental extractions are performed with local anaesthesia so you won’t feel any pain. For difficult extractions, or if you are anxious, we recommend having “happy gas” or intravenous sedation.
After an extraction your dentist will provide detailed post-operative instructions and organise a follow up appointment or phone call to check on your recovery
Frequently asked questions
This is highly dependent on the difficulty of the extraction, your age, your overall health and any medications you may be taking. For a healthy young person, you may only be in pain for a couple of days. For more difficult cases it may take a couple of weeks to recover. Where possible it is a good idea to plan your extraction away from work or study commitments.
